I was watching Sky news today and I was really surprised by the comments made by one particular member of the British National Party (BNP).
A scientist/professor who is the BNP's National Press Officer made these statements. In a conversation with a University student who secretly recorded him, he said that black kids raised by single parents grow up dysfunctional, have low IQ, are under-achievers, are a burden to the benefits & prison system and are highly likely to mug you.
He claims he is not a racist and that these facts are supported by genetics. In an interview he pointed out that science tells you that Africans are less intelligent and certainly there was no Charles Dickens or Charles Darwin (both Brits) or people of their calibre from Sub-Saharan Africa…

A prominent model was apprehended with cocaine worth 22 million at JKIA on a flight from Ghana…apparently the Anti-Narcotics cops always had a hunch that she was involved in trafficking. After going through her cell-phone, numbers of various MPs, a former Nairobi maor and several prominent businessmen were found. She quickly denied their involvement in the narcortics trade and said that she basically organised events for them. The only clue to her identity is that she was a participant in MNET Face of Africa 1999 & Miss Universe Kenya 2002.
The police and CID are now deciding whether to question the MPs and those found in the cell phone. My personal opinion is that as the rich get richer and the poorer continue to languish in Kenya, drugs was always gonna enter our system and it would make those who are "above the law" rich. I know that if you have power in Kenya, you are untouchable and obviously whether these people are guilty or not, the model will definately be the one to take the fall…

I snatched this from on of the many mails I receive…at the end of the day we all want to drive a Ferrari and live in Lavington/Karen or if you're in the UK you may want to stay in South Kensington and if you're in Ireland you'd wanna stay in Ballsbridge, the poshest area in Dublin…this is a veiw from a wealthy kid.
One day, the father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the express purpose of showing him how poor people live. They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family. On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, "How was the trip?" "It was great, Dad." "Did you see how poor people live?" the father asked. "Oh yeah," said the son. "So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?" asked the father. The son answered: "I saw that we have one dog and they had four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night. Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon. We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight. We have servants who serve us, but they serve others. We buy our food, but they grow theirs. We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them." The boy's father was speechless. Then his son added, "Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are." Isn't perspective a wonderful thing? Makes you wonder what would happen if we all gave thanks for everything we have, instead of worrying about what we don't have.

That is one episode I will not want to miss. The show will air on Channel 4 on Friday 28th April at 7.35pm (1935GMT) and the main focus will be how the gap between the rich and the poor is bigger than anywhere else in the world.
Ironically, Kenyan MPs were on a go slow last week and forced parliament to adjourn prematurely because they want their travel allowances increased from 82 to 150 shillings per kilometre…and adding insult to injury, they want this backdated to July 2005…what a bunch of tossers!!! This is all happening in the wake of a famine which has gripped the country and millions of Kenyans are starving to death. How then, will the divide between the rich and poor become smaller?? It's a dog eat dog situation as Sir Alan (The Apprentice) would put it..

I was browsing one of the many sites that I usually do with a quest for information and I came across two sites that gave me insight to a musician that we Kenyans in Europe have not really heard about or have been kept in the dark. He calls himself Shu and he is a Kenyan-born Harvard grad who traded academia for his love of music. Dj Edu of BBC 1xtra played a song by Shu on his last week show (DNA) and this guy seems to be doing pretty well for himself. He has released an album, has a few singles that are really doing well and…I guess I can't say too much. Take a leap of faith here:

Today was a good day as Ice Cube put it. I got confirmation on a job I'd applied for, it's my mums birthday…and the Queen turns 80 on this very day. It's a very sunny Friday and I've been in a short all day. I always cherish sunny days where I live. I wasn't planning on going out but I feel I need my favourite beer in my system. Stella Artois. Yes, I'll definately knock a few down.
I want to officially welcome everyone to read my blog, comment on any articles, raise arguments if I get controversial and generally share any ideas.
